Client Brief

Our clients were looking to transform their semi-detached house into their forever home. Working closely to provide bespoke spaces to match our clients’ unique lifestyle, the design includes a gym annex, complete with sauna and roof terrace, an open-plan living/dining space which connects to a new garden terrace and a fantastic master suite at loft level.

Planning Strategy

Often a local authority’s planning policy for roof alterations and additions will be more restrictive than what may be allowed through householder permitted development rights, as in this case. Our approach was therefore to argue a fall-back position to maximise our client’s chances of success for their large roof extension. Through engaging with planners and neighbours throughout both the Pre-Application and Planning process we were able to achieve permission for the full loft extension.
